Preview of Coming Attractions

As you can see, we got some GREAT pictures at the cabin. Unfortunately I don't have time to post them right now. Hopefully, I'll be able to get them posted in between all the other chores that are demanding my attention.

Our holiday celebrations have made a disaster area of our house! Christmas gifts have created a mountain of recycling, that needs to be hauled to the recycling center. The new books, DVDs, and games we received for Christmas need to find a permanent spot in our home. L gave me a DVD recorder for Christmas. This required some "artistic" rewiring in our entertainment center. Then we just HAD to test out the recorder with all the various devices we want it to record from.

Our weekend trip to the cabin has left us with drying boots and snowmobile suits hanging everywhere. We hauled stuff from the cabin for my parents that needs to be taken to their house. Coolers are cleaned out and need to be returned to the shed. The rest of our stuff is only half unpacked, as we ran out of time yesterday.

We're shorthanded at work, so I'll probably have to work 3 Saturdays in a row. We would like to take down the Christmas decorations this weekend, but it doesn't look too promising right now. I can't find the time to write all the important dates on our new calendar, so we can hang it up.

I LOVE the holiday season, but I HATE the aftermath!!

Oofda. Don't worry about the decorations, though - we're not taking ours down til the week after next, either, since I put them up later than usual! ;)

Looks just beautiful. Hope you had fun and enjoyed yourselves. I am taking our tree down to the basement today. I know when we go out of town it takes a while to get back into the groove of things when we get home. Esp when we go home. Its such a long trip esp with two little ones. Well take your time posting your pix. I think we all understand how it is.

Nice... send us some of your snow. It feels like March and not January here in Chitown. Running out of time is a problem this time of year.

Oh, oh, oh, oh, *jumping around in joy* I love that picture! Now I want a weekend cabin getaway in the snowy woods. :-(

SME, but we put them UP at the usual time. :(

Tweets, ANY trip with little ones is a huge undertaking!

Laura, it's +40F today, so I don't think there'll be any snow left to send you. I just hope that we don't get snowed under in MARCH!!

VV, I was thinking of you the whole time I was taking these pics. There's LOTS more to come! ;)
BTW, you can have THIS weekend getaway for a mere $7500.

Dont tell me that. I want to come home in March and visit but I dont want to get stranded up there. LOL..... I want to go visit friends and family and then come home to my house here. WE have havent had any snow since the pix of the outside of the house I took. That was at the end of November or so.

That picture is beautiful. I'm glad you were able to squeeze in the time to post it and a brief rundown on the hecticness that is your life. :)

Tweets, you know how the weather can be here. :(

Squirl, venting is always quick to write for me.
I didn't get any sunset pics, but I got a lot of cool sunrise pics.

That IS a great picture!

There's always a feeling of "coming down" after the holidays, a sense of moving on. I always feel a little sad that it's all over, despite the fact that I hate this time of year.

Thanks WC, lots more to come.

You may have something there. Moving on, after living in a cozy little shell of holiday fun, can be a daunting task. :(

$7500? Are you SERIOUS? Btw, thanks for posting the pic, I had almost forgotten what snow looked like. It's been over 40 degrees here every day since Dec. 10.

btw, how can you live in Minnesota and not like Walleye? I do understand, however, your aversion to that gelatenous goo that started life as cod until someone got the bright idea to soak it in lye for months.

SME said "oofdah!" I thought that was strictly a Yooper thing...

GWB, more snow pics to come. What little snow we have, is going fast today.
Yup, $7500 is what my parents are selling it for.
Walleye is tasteless. I prefer bass, cod(not the jellied kind), shrimp, scallops, crab, lobster, clams...
Uffda is a Norwegian thing. However, I was born in the U.P., so that fits too. ;)

Boy do we learn alot about each other when reading. I didnt know you were from the U.P. orginally. That is cheap compared to what we bought our house for. LOL... I try not to think of that compared to home sometimes.

Tweets, my Dad was in the Army when I was born. He was stationed in the U.P. at that time. We only lived there until I was 2.

OK, it's been weird without snow, but....

still not sure how I'd like that much of it....

pretty to look at on a screen tho....

ND, we actually don't have much snow at all. We only got a couple of inches last weekend. That gave us a total of about 5 inches on the ground.
It rained again today, so we're pretty much one big skating rink. :(

What a gorgeous pic! I took mine down, but I kinda miss them. . .

Man, if I had an extra cent on me, I'd have a weekend getaway, go there and never come back. I think I need a vacation from crooked attorneys and politicians. Sometimes I don't know why I fight so hard for justice when it so seldom comes.

Candace, it's always nice to get back to "normal", but I always miss the warmth of our Christmas decs. :(

Take care VV; honest lawyers burn out easily. :(
You're the 2nd honest attorney that I've known. The other is a close family friend and former County Attorney. The filth and scum that he dealt with on a daily basis was overwhelming...and our county has a small population!

It's just amazing to me how rampant corruption has gotten. It's at every level of government and throughout the community, and it's a costly uphill battle. This is why the corrupt are so successful, because they know the average, honest citizen does not have the financial means to pursue them into court to stop them from breaking the law. Furthermore, average people don't have the legal training to recognize all the laws being violated, and they don't know where to begin to go after these guys. I have the means to pursue this and am, but I'm just nipping at the heels of one of the many issues facing my community. The corruption is so widespread that some days I'm just stunned and looking for others out there to join the fight. I feel like I'm treading water in the middle of a deserted ocean. There are a number of people out there also fighting the good fight. Some are taking the legal route which is slow and expensive. Others are taking the political route, attempting to unseat the corrupt City Council in the next election 3 months away, but most people are oblivious of what is happening. It's so exhausting dealing with this. At this rate, I might quit practicing law within the year. I just can't take the constant stress and hopelessness of it all. I'm hoping a new City Council will eliminate the higher levels of corruption and I won't feel so alone in the fight. Okay, thanks for allowing me to download, back to work for me. *sigh*

VV, you're soooo right! I always told my kids that they had no hope of being rich. Getting rich, these days, involves a ruthlessness that I hope my kids NEVER attain!
What happened to the concept of attaining wealth through hard work and inventiveness?

Oh these guys are inventive alright, I've never seen such creative moves around the law! But I agree, honest, hard work should be rewarded and the illegal activities of these guys should be punished.
