BLIZZARD!
Up to this weekend, we only had about 4 inches of snow on the ground. Yesterday we got 14 inches of snow and -9F temps combined with 35 mph winds! I really shouldn't have been bragging about the mild winter we'd been having so far. Tonight the temp is supposed to dip to -30F, but the wind is supposed to let up.
This is the drift that greeted me this morning. Needless to say, I used the big garage door this morning instead of the entrance door. I was soooo thankful for our garage and our 4x4 truck this morning!!
There's been a nasty stomach flu circulating through our town. My Boss got it a week ago, her son got it Wednesday, her grandkids and I got it Friday, and Z and L got it yesterday. We're all feeling much better today, but we didn't have the stamina to do a very good job of snow removal. L managed to blow out the driveway, but it will probably take us the rest of the week to clear roofs, widen the driveway, and blow paths to the sheds.
Yesterday Z managed to find the bright spot to our situation: "At least we all got sick BEFORE Christmas!"

Hope we don't get the storm or the flu here. We got the wind and cold for sure though. brrrrr.
Well, we had 16" here and now the temperatures are -17C and lower AND it's quite windy! Ack!
Glad you're all on the mend. And, Z is right: good thing this didn't happen AT Xmas time!
We've been getting a lot of lake effect snow. Sunday the temps were up in the 40s with rain. It took our snow down to almost nothing. Today we got more snow. There's been a lot of wind.
Sorry you guys all got sick. I'm glad you're over it before Christmas, though. :-)
Z and I are on the same wave-length. Better to get the sickness out of the way, eh.
I'll bet watching that snow fall was a peaceful peaceful feeling! Gorgeous! Thanks for the pix.
Yikes...it rained today in Toronto and we have no snow on the ground at all..
Get better soon, sweet friend. Z's right and I hope it passes quickly. It's flippin cold here too when the wind blows.
Hmmmmm. We've been freezing our butts off with temps close to freezing (!) at night and in the low fifties during the day. Brrr.
And it's raining...
I love it! :)
Wow, and I'm whimpering when it reaches 40 with a drizzle of rain. Sorry. I am thrilled that I do not have to shovel snow. Eeeew. Winter takes an enourmous amount of physical energy, whew! Try to stay warm - - pump up the Vit. "C". It just does not seem possible that winter is here - and with such force!
Z is optimistic like me. That sucks to be sick and have to fight the snow to go out to work. But I am jealous of the snow. We're planning on driving up to NY on Sunday to see Pat and the forecast is for snow! Yippee!!
Jeannie, I'm hoping the cold will start killing off a bunch of the germs here. ;)
WC, we haven't had this much snow at one time in a LONG time! I hope this is it for big dumps.
Squirl, I'd much rather have the snow than the rain. Eww, what a mess!
Cherie, this snowfall wasn't all that pretty...too windy. It did give us a nice cozy inside day. We made lefse and were thankful that we didn't have to go anywhere. It's pretty now though. ;)
Mr A, I'd rather have the snow. ;)
Bridg, we're all pretty well over it now. This flu knocks the stuffings out of you for 36 hrs, then goes away pretty quickly.
Sonja, that's considered a balmy fall day here. ;)
Gardenia, to me, 40 and rain is colder than -10. The damp just cuts right through me. :(
VV, we're slowly getting it cleaned up. We'll probably get finished just in time for more to fall. That's life in the far north!
Give Pat a big hug from me! I know you'll all have a ball. I hope you get your snow.
I think that's about enough snow. ;D
We just have a heavy dusting here, but it's -14ish.
I agree! An inch or so every couple of weeks to keep things fresh would be fine for me this winter. ;)
