Recharging
It's been beastly hot and humid here for the past week....95F with 90% humidity!! The AC at work isn't keeping up with the combined heat of ovens, grill, deep-fryer, steam table, dishwasher, and over-heated customers. We're all surviving by wrapping frozen bar towels around our necks. Thank God our home AC is still working well! *knocking wood*
SME and family are safely back home in Edmonton. They spent another day with us on their way back from southern Ontario. We crammed a LOT of love and laughter into those 2 nights and a day! I've got more pictures and stories to share, but I'm too drained to think straight.
With our whole family here, we haven't had an empty electrical outlet. They've been plugged up with recharging RC cars, a laptop computer, camcorders, MP3 players and phones. Next week, the outlets will be charging up cordless drilldrivers, and grass clippers, as we get back to our chores and projects.
Right now, I wish my body had a rechargeable battery pack.

Beautiful picture. Did you take that?
Glad to hear that you had some more time with your traveling family. The only way to recharge humans is to get some rest!
Hope the weather cools down for you soon. (Sucks, doesn't it? That's average Philly weather in the summer - it TOTALLY sucks!)
Humidity is worse than the heat. That's when I overheat and get sick.
Definitely get some sleep. Sleep is your rechargeable battery pack. ;)
It's been really hot here, too, but not humid (thank the heavens!). We had two days of humidity... totally knocks you on your rear end, unable to do anything (but read Harry Potter - hehe).
I usually wish my body had a rechargeable battery pack. I know I will at 6am tomorrow after staying up past midnight reading blogs. Hmmm.
Great picture! Life is exhausting sometimes, but boy, the love and pleasure that comes with the chaos is worth it.
Time with family is precious. The chores can wait. They'll still be there tomorrow and if it's too late? enh.
When A/C isn't working, or keeping up, makes you wonder how people managed for all those centuries doesn't it?
Rechargable battery pack - yeah, I think a good night's sleep is the human form of one. Would be nice to sit down somewhere with a cup of tea, plug myself in, and be ready for that constant 'second shift' in just 20 minutes. Oh well - these crazy days have a certain number, right, and rest follows on their heels, when the work is done.
Done? When? Ha!
That's a really great picture! I hear you re. the heat...It's hot again here, but at least it's not that humid. And it's really the humidity that kills you.
That is a very pretty pix. I am glad you had fun and loads of love those last two days. I still get teary eyed when I think of them being here with me. I had so much fun even if it was only for a few hours but we packed in a lot of memories in those few hours. I say few hours because I am not counting the sleeping time. LOL... Recharable batteries for humans. HUH..... I could use one right about now. I havent had any company but with the girls I feel I need more power sometimes. LOL..
GET SOME SLEEP THIS WEEKEND IF YOU CAN.
Monica, thanks! I did take this pic. I actually beat L to the camera. ;)
This weather definitely SUCKS! Remind me not to move to Philly.
ZS, the heat makes me sick too. It seems like once you've had heat stroke, it hits you easier from then on. :(
Sonja, I couldn't even concentrate on reading. My mind gets totally muddled in the heat.
VV, ABSOLUTELY!!
Jeannie, "enh" has been my attitude this week.
Cherie, a 20 minute quick charger would be PERFECT!!
"Done?", is right!! There's ALWAYS something demanding our labors.
WC, the jet stream brought us this heat, directly from you. You wanna send us some cool air next time? ;)
Tweets, we'll catch up on sleep next week. This weekend is Z's birthday. We need to do a quick cleaning job on the house to get ready for birthday company.
I wish you a recharge too. Take some time and rest. The heat & humidity is making so many people just sluggish as all git out.
Gorgeous photo.
Gardenia, the photo was easy...I was just in the right place, at the right time. ;)
I'm ready for winter!
Sure, if we ever get any.
What a beautiful pic! Hope it cools down fast, tshsmom, that is beastly hot.
WC, that's NOT the news I wanted to hear! :(
Bridg, I'd be happy to pass on some cool weather to you, if we get some from WC. ;)
SpecTACular photograph!! Was that a wall cloud??
I hope you're recharged. And I hope this dang heat goes away soon. Ugh.
Pam, actually, it was a cloud on the tail end of a system that had just passed through. It was a clear sky behind it. Weird, huh?
I heard, on the news today, that they're trying to get disaster relief for MN farmers affected by the drought. This is NOT normal MN weather! :(
