It Takes Someone Special...

FATHER/DAUGHTER LOVE

FATHER/SON LOVE

"Any man can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a DADDY!"

This quote has always struck a chord with me. I've known way too many fathers who will NEVER be a Daddy. I've also known several non-biological Daddies, who are the best parents I've ever seen.

There's something incredibly sexy, to me, about a man who changes diapers, patiently walks the floor with a screaming baby, cuddles with his children, falls asleep with a sleeping child in his lap, crawls on the floor to play, and physically hurts when his children are hurting. This type of man would NEVER say that he is babysitting his own children!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all you "Daddies" out there!

To all you "Fathers"; I hope you get a clue before it's too late.

Happy Father's Day to your man. Thanks for reiterating that parents can't babysit their own children. LOL

Cherie, we're lucky to have found our guys. We were also smart enough to choose men who were Daddy material! I rejected several guys who didn't have the "right stuff".

Monica, thanks! I knew you'd agree. Troll is definitely a "Daddy"!

Aw, those are great pictures. Dad just doesn't age much, does he? He's definitely not an old goat, but I could've sworn he said he liked a Chagall painting once. Could be my mistake...might've been someone else who painted goats. ;)

SME, you're just sucking up now because you know Dad's sick! ;)

The picture of you was so typical. You had such a fascination with teeth, that we thought you'd be a dentist and support us in our old age.
It's not too late, you know. heehee

Hammer, that doesn't surprise me. You were one of the "Daddies" I was thinking of when I wrote this. ;)

Tweets, it would be pretty boring if we all didn't feel like whopping our spouses upside the head once in a while. ;)

SME, Z and I are on the mend. Dad and Grandpa are still in the throes of it. :(

Notta, next year will be a special Father's Day for you guys! I'm sure that H is Daddy material. ;)

AMEN! I just read a sad article - our newspaper had a series of the most influential men in this City. The number #1 man admitted he was too busy for his children and grandchildren. But maybe he'd spend some time with a grandson on Father's Day. How sad this man's life.

And how wonderful the men who, maybe don't make a fortune and control the town, but who LOVE their kids and show them that love!

Pam, my parents live 2 blocks away. Sometimes that's too close. ;)

Thanks Jay!

ZF, I knew that! ;0

Gardenia, wouldn't our world be a whole lot better if people would realize that money and power aren't what's important?

You know I never saw Z when he was that little but boy was he cute. I mean he more than likely still is but he was a cute baby. So was Sme. LOL... I dont have any baby pix of me like that. My mom didnt take any or very few. You should see the loads of baby pix I have of both girls. Anyway. You are right about a special man being a daddy and then there are men that are just there and not doing much with that child.

That's so true, what you said. Ichabod and I have never been able to have children but he's so great with them. You definitely picked a winner in the Daddy category.

Bridg, that doesn't surprise me sis!

Tweets, I know how you feel. We don't have any pictures of L, when he was little, either. :(
My parents have TONS of pictures of me. I think I could post a picture a day of our kids and never show the same picture twice.
You'd never know it now, but Z was our little curly-headed blonde boy.

Squirl, that's too bad; I'm sorry! You two are so terrific with the nephews. They're lucky to have you. ;)

Cherie, I love them dearly, but they drive us crazy sometimes.
It took them 30 years, but they finally realized that we're capable of making mature decisions for ourselves....sometimes they even agree with us. ;)

Great pictures. My father was never a daddy but I just realised that he tried. So I'm giving him a break now, he did not do a bad job.

LC, I'm happy that you're close to your Dad now! I bet he'll make up for it with grandkids someday. ;)
