April Showers?
I took this picture of our back yard on Thursday, before we got 3 more inches of snow yesterday. Starting Monday, we're supposed to have temps in the 50s all week. That will be a refreshing change, but I'm dreading all the resulting slop the warm weather will bring.
If you click on the picture you can see my neighbor's ramshackle garage expansion project along with some of the crap that overwhelms their yard.
My mood has been strange ever since the time changed to DST. I go through my daily routine, accomplishing all the necessary chores, but my body feels like it's going in slow motion. My brain, on the other hand, is in overdrive. A myriad of half-formed ideas are whizzing through my head. Plans for home improvement and landscape projects, blog posts, political rants, homeschool lessons, photography projects, and new recipes are all vying for my attention. Unfortunately, none of these ideas are making it to paper, or computer. My sluggish body just doesn't seem capable of keeping up with my head right now.
I hope that this is all a result of spring fever. Maybe next week's warm weather will unite my mind and body?

Yep, your neighbour's "project" is definitely a bit of an eye sore!
I found it difficult to adjust to DST, too. The days seem much longer now, much slower, and I feel like I have to do more in order to fill them up. I hope the milder temps help you feel better!
Agree with you and WC (quel surprise!).
Am in a similar funk, minus energy. This time of year is awful.
I know how you feel. It took us sooo long to adjust to the time change. Now, with the warmer weather we've had here, Spring Fever has hit me with a vengeance! Today, planted another tree (Pink Oleander), did other yard work, did housework, and then got a wild hair about me and began painting the entire foyer, stairway and tomorrow, the upstairs hallway. This is after finishing painting the office last week before out of town guests arrived, scraping outside windows, repairing screens and planting shrubs. I need the cold weather to return so I can rest!
Our snow is pretty much all gone now - except what's left of the bigger snowbanks. We've been getting rain rain rain.
I'm not going to say anything about your neighbor because I think we would be just as bad - my husband just doesn't care.
WC, you just nailed why I'm always so exhausted in the summer! I'm always compelled to fill up the extended daylight hours. No wonder I prefer winter!
Bridg, I'm glad that it's not just me! Thanks sis!
VV, I still haven't adjusted to the time change! I wish they'd leave it alone!
LOL! That's why I love to see winter coming. By the end of fall I need the rest! ;)
Jeannie, we're supposed to have 50F temps all this week. That should melt the rest of our snow into a big, muddy mess! :(
DST is exactly what I needed to get out of my funk. Of course, I don't have a million house projects to do, yet. ;)
I hope the warm weather gets you up and going. This winter seems to have dragged on forever! I found myself tidying and organizing quite a bit today. Must be Spring or something.
:-)
I HATE DST! I know it's only an hour but it always takes me forever to adjust, especially during such a long, dark, cold winter. It seemed especially cruel this year that it happened so early so we would have an extra hour of daylight at the end of the day to... um... look at snow? Here's to the warmer week we've been promised! May we both collect our thoughts and get de-funked!
;-)
When those trees and shrubs leaf out will some of the neighbors unsightliness be less visible? Still - yuck. I need to build a six foot wall to blot out my neighbor's inability to keep her junk at bay.
Totally relate to your dilemma about the mind and body disconnect. It happened to me, too. Once I could actually get outside and start doing a few things - checking some projects off the list - I felt better. Hopefully you will, too.
DST = evil.
Courtney, wanna come here for the summer? We've got enough projects to turn you off home ownership forever! ;)
Pam, I'm a morning person, so I like my daylight in the morning. This year WAS especially cruel! It's just now starting to get light when I go to work. :(
Cherie, our trees and shrubs were planted especially to block the view of the neighbor's. We want to fence off the corner to keep him from encroaching onto our property.
I know that I'll feel better when I can start scratching stuff off my list too. ;)
