Bad Blogger!

SME and Doug are safely back home following their wonderful 3-day visit with us. The love, laughs, and hugs we shared will have to hold us until we can all be together again. *sigh*

I had SME and Z, begrudgingly, pose for pictures while they were here. The last picture we have of just the 2 of them was taken when Z was 4. I took a lot of shots, but the picture above is the one we all liked best. We're going to frame an 8x10 of this picture for my Mom's birthday. Now, I just need to get Z to pose for some semi-formal solo shots. The picture of him, that the whole family has framed and carries in their wallets, was taken when Z was in the 6th grade! I definitely think that we'd all appreciate an updated picture to display.

I also tried to get a decent picture of SME and Z with our 3rd "kid", Hairry. Unfortunately, Hairry just wanted to play, and wouldn't hold still for a picture. The above picture is the only shot I got of Hairry holding still. The kids look great, but this is the worst picture I've ever seen of Hairry! SME says that Hairry looks like he's drunk.

I'm hoping that I'll be able to get back into blogging regularly again. The last couple of months, we've been trying to get our household semi-organized again. We've actually been "semi" successful at this endeavor.

SME's right, Hairry does look a little drunk! He looks like he's winking. Juno never keeps her eyes open during photographing and it drives me up the wall!

Those are great shots of your kids, though! I can definitely see the family resemblance.

I love the pictures. I'm sure Hairry won't care that you've posted this pic of him. Nice to see the kids.

Please don't feel bad about posting. It makes me feel like less of a slacker. I also don't feel so bad about not getting around to read as often.

Just don't quit! I do love coming over here to visit. :-D

WC, Hairry's such a clown that he usually looks good in pictures...not this time.

You should see their baby pictures; you can't hardly tell them apart.

Squirl, nah, Hairry loves a good laugh too.

It's a bugger when life gets in the way of blogging.
I'll make you a deal...I won't quit if you won't. ;)

I was going to say Harry looked stoned ;) Great pics!

I really like this post. It made me smile. Drunken Hairry, posing SME and Z - how does SME feel about little brother being taller than her? - just great!

I, too, need to do some updating of the kids photos. Know what you mean - yep, sure do.

And I understand the bloop in blogging. I've got life going on furiously in the foreground too. It's good that we don't let the 'life' things go and keep the blogging up. Mercy me! What a mess that would be. ;D

Have a great week, friend!

Nice pictures! Poor Hairry is the victim of your flash reflecting in one eye. I would touch that up in photoshop and I'll bet the picture would be great.

Alright, who's been slipping the pooch the hooch? (Someone had to say it!)

The lull in blogging is a good thing, it means that people still have the capacity to enjoy other things in life and don't need to be tied to a computer 24/7. C'mon, it's almost (kind of) summer! ;)

It looks like Hairry is winking at you.

Tweets, Hairry's ALWAYS up for playing!

Hammer, Hairry's a big enough goofball without getting stoned. ;)

Cherie, SME misses giving Z noogies, now that he's taller. Z loves to call SME his "little sister". Their favorite pastime is ganging up on ME!

I don't envy the life you've had going on in your foreground lately! I pray that things will settle down for the rest of your summer.
Take care and re-charge yourself!

Jeannie, I think we'll just stick with the drunk story. ;)

Courtney, I can ALWAYS count on you to say what needs to be said. ;)

We'd all be pretty boring if we were online 24/7, wouldn't we?
Speaking of summer...thanks for not sending your snow over here!

VV, and a mischievous wink at that!

I had to laugh at bottom picture - Hairry looks very alpha! Beautiful kids - but don't tell Hairry I said they are more beautiful than him.

I totally think the hungover-Hairry pic is frameworthy, but that's probably just me...
;D

Well Jeff and I have talked about going home for a few days. We have the tent just need to get a reservation for it and then gas money.

Those are both terrific snapshots. I liked the one with Hairry. WC's right, the family resemblance between the two is very clear.

That top picture is really cute. Z's getting tall. Definitely doesn't have his father's height. ;)

Gardenia, that's why I posted that pic...it's just so darned funny! Hairry adores his kids, and doesn't care if they're cuter than he is. ;)

SME, you would frame that pic. But then you also have a framed pic of the outhouse... ;)

Tweets, as much as we'd love to see you, we know that neither of us can afford the gas for a trip. :(

Bridge, thanks! SME has some great family pics on her Facebook too.

ZS, thanks! Z and SME thought the pose was sappy, but they liked the picture when they saw it.

L is ecstatic that Z is getting some height from my side of the family! It's fine for girls to be short, but it's tough for a guy.

Great looking kids. Love the Hairry the drunk shot!! Semi organized is double what my desk is according to SWMBO.

You're not gonna post that god-awful shot of you all between the rocks? :P

CA, we don't want Hairry telling ALL his secrets! ;)

Thanks Mike!
With my guys, I can NEVER hope for completely organized. SWMBO has my sympathies. ;)

Yes, my son, as a matter of fact, I AM planning a post with those pictures. I must tell the story of Romero's homecoming.
You and SME were a couple of stick-in-the-muds with those pictures. :p

Well, it's also tough for a girl.

I wrote a post on my old blog - a little lady with a big gun. She was under 5' tall and wasn't taken very seriously in the office, despite having a wickedly high I.Q. and knowing how to use it. We had a long talk about her height once, and she had to go extra lengths to get noticed, just like short guys.

Nice pictures, and Z has way better glasses than when I was a kid.

At 6/27/2008 7:31 PM, Blogger tshsmom said...

ZS, SME always wanted to be taller, and I wanted to be shorter. I always wanted to blend in rather than stand out. Most of the way through high school, I was taller than most of the boys. I guess teens are never happy with their body type.
Now that I'm an adult(supposedly), I'm comfortable within my own skin, and body type doesn't really matter to me anymore. Maybe that's because I'm tall?

DC, we got those glasses from the cheap frames section. Not bad, eh?
